Rose Bowling

Today was a perfect sunny day and we made a trip out to the rose bowl flea market. On the way there we realized that we had lost an hour due to the time change.... we were sooooo close to actually doing something in the morning. haha! I guess it's a sign that we shouldnt try. We haven't been to the rose bowl in quite a while and the last time we were there it was like 95 degrees and we wandered around like we were lost in a desert. Thankfully this trip we had a plan and were able to walk the whole flea market and check out almost every booth. We scored some rad gold frames in great shape - one for $20 and one for $5 bucks! We also picked up a vintage iron fan and Anna got some boots and a tank top (for Coachella (of course!)).

meow.

the whole day i felt cooper's presence... i don't know why...

yes, i made her do this.

loot! we also got a free military surplus bag from the guy we bought the fan from. thanks!

After the flea market we had lunch at el compadre and drove down to melrose to look for a flat brimmed hat for Coachella for me.

So close... she forgot to draw in a mustache today.

sometimes i think anna is a better photographer than i am.

Right after this we got a parking ticket. Thanks for ruining our perfect day city of los angeles parking enforcement officer!

score!

Today before our shoot we ran some errands, went to my fave place on the earth (the grove bitches!) and did some vintage shopping on melrose. Can you say SCORE?!

First of all check out this Rick Springfield t-shirt. Anyone who knows me or Anna has probably heard someone sing Jesse's girl to us at least 20 times. Even though it was pretty expensive for a vintage shirt... it was a must buy! Check out the details! Dog in a tie? why not?! two ricks? why not! strange melting rainbow circles and a briefcase? Amazing!

But the awesome finds didn't stop there... check out this beat up metallica shirt! its just perfection! Anna will sure to be wearing it in a lot of blog posts in the future, because we all know how big of a metallica fan* she is. :)

The rest of the shirts are mine... how could I pass up a shirt that says "thanks jesse for honkey fest '82" with a picture of an alligator chasing a rather scared dude. I'm sure it's probably racist or something, but it was too strange to pass up.

I also found a perfect old smiths shirt. thanks to the big fat guy who bought it years ago and must have washed it about 8000 times. its all shrunk, paper thin and stretched out in the most amazing way.

Anna picked up a pair of joe's jeans platforms. They look amazing on her and she looks amazing-er. Seriously. How lucky am I? :D

* anna wanted me to note the sarcasm here. she is NOT a big fan of metallica.

Long Beach

So we got up early on this beautiful sunny sunday morning to kick it out to long beach to check out the (from their website) LONG BEACH ANTIQUE & COLLECTIBLE FLEA MARKET held every 3rd Sunday in Long Beach, California. Over 800 dealers feature a huge selection of antiques, collectibles, vintage items and home furnishings for sale at bargain prices. Established in 1982, this event was named one of the TOP TEN FLEA MARKETS IN THE U. S. by Good Housekeeping Magazine and THE BEST SWAP MEET in Los Angeles by L. A. Magazine.

Well that all sounds great so we of course had to check it out...

One map. Check!

I'm really disappointed I didn't get this table. Whenever I saw something crazy that I liked I would say to Anna "I want that" to which she would reply "OK get it!" Best. wife. ever.

Cute sweater, but unfortunately she didn't realize it smelled like B.O. and she was freaking out about it all day after that... oh and it was missing the belt. :(

Churro and Water time!

Should have got this too. :(

After a while it all starts to blend together and the sun starts to mess with you. We left and kicked it back home to meet lexi. Anna was styling her hair for an event she had tonight.

Cooper had to get in this post. He was way crazy today

the master at work. :) ps. check out the cute panda slippers! :D

Anyone remember Eddie from Fraiser? Yeah, cooper does that staring thing too...

Anna's sun burn! yikes! no more bracelets for her.
