hair monsters.

Uuuuuum how awesome are these shoes. I found them in NYC at the urbn on 5th avenue. When I saw the $29.99 price tag I was like "for real" because there was another tag that said $315. So I asked the lady "is this for real" pointing at the shoes and she was like "yea I know right?" so yes big freaking score on these babies. Ann Demeulemeester I will have yours one day, but for now this will do!!

Did rebecca's hair today! And she ended up booking a last minute Wen by Chaz dean show tonight! Yeeeea! They'll be on sometime around 10pm-12am pacific on qvc!

we also had dinner at izakaya fu-ga so yums!

Brianna Corrective Color

This is my new client Brianna, isn't she pretty!

Today I did major corrective color work and a cut on her.  She was depositing a level 2 for the past year and a half and had recently had some highlights that were overprocessed.  I removed color using Vanish - it's great as it removes color by breaking down the color molecules which is so much more gentle on the hair then bleaching the color out.  It's also very tricky sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.  I wanted to get her as light as possible without compromising the integrity of the hair.  As you can see it turned out great!!!

service:
2 application Vanish color remover
highlight and lowlight without using bleach and lowlight deposit with INOA color
remoist aromatherapy mask with color
haircut and style

Sierra and Jennifer

Here are two of my clients from Saturday!

Sierra, I miss this lady! I only get to see Sierra about twice a year these days compared to the every 4-5 weeks she used to come in. These days she's in New Zealand shooting her show and modeling! She's normally a dark ash blonde and we warmed up her roots to a nice golden shade and we added some light pieces underneath! She wanted it darker at the root and gradually going lighter to the ends...soft ombre effect and I was more than happy to rock it out!! She called this Silver Lake hair, HA! Looks rad!!

Jennifer is a new client who came in for a haircut. We were wearing basically the same outfit (jean shorts, boots, t-shirt) we knew instantly we'd get along. :) I look forward to seeing her again!

Can we talk for a second?

I just wanna do hair.

ps. check out this rad before & after mother & daughter haircuts by Chaz and I. Chaz did Mom while I did the cute fashion designer daughter Aanika(so sorry if i'm spelling your name wrong!). We did a color conditioning aromatherapy mask (which is a mixture of all the wen cleansers and wen oils and vegetable color) for extra hydration and moisture. Check out how it made her color more rich and how much it brought her hair back to life! The mask is custom made for each client when done at our studio. Sorry mom your before and after pix are on Chaz' camera! We'll add you here when we get them! :D

Miriam and Julie Makeovers!

Miriam.
this is miriam. this was her first visit with me.

color. i did highlights and lowlights on her. two different tones of highlights done with hi-lift color and two different tones of lowlights. she had been doing base colors prior but in my opinion she really didn't need them just yet. she only had a few grays here and there but not enough to be a slave to getting her base regularly done. she also wasn't a fan of streaky/stripy highlights and i'm not either!!

cut. she wanted to keep her length. her last haircut was 4 weeks ago. so today i dusted her ends. her haircut had really had no shape so today i put in some longer layers in there..not too crazy since her hair is lacking density.

Julie.
this is julie. she's my most favorite pilates instructor ever! amazing woman! she finally came into the studio. this was also her first visit with us.

color. i did her base with a hi-lift color and did a color conditioning aromatherapy mask. i eventually would love to do some highlights and lowlights on her. we were going to today but she was in a time crunch.

cut. chaz did her amazing haircut which is going to allow her to grow it out to the length that she wants. she wanted my haircut and she was in the right hands because chaz is the one who cuts my hair. thank you thank you chaz!!! :)

kelsa before and after

So this is Kelsa. This was her first time at the studio. She normally does her own color, can't you tell in the before shot?! Today I lifted her base and then added low-lights to give her hair dimension and life because let me just tell you it was a hot mess. What she had going was so horrible for her skin tone. Adding the golden and ivory tones to her hair was exactly what she needed. It made her look softer. Chaz did the cut and he is just amazing! Her hair was so broken from all the bleach. He saved her from her chemical haircut. Check out what he did with that haircut!! OMG! LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Her cut fit her personality so much more.

Look at how it changed her look completely! This goes to show you what the right color and cut can do to a person. I must say it turned out pretty amazing and I'm so happy she is on the right track with her hair. From this day forward it's just going to get better and better.

susan loves the boss.

this is my client susan she loves bruce springsteen. she's super sweet and gets my sense of humor, love it and she's just plain awesome!! i first started doing susan back in may of this year and due to her busy schedule and living in the virgin islands, it was a little difficult for her to come and see me more often, haha. today we did her color. i added two different tones of highlights (done with high-lift color and low volume peroxide) and two different tones of lowlights to add dimension. i also did a cut on her. i got rid of her "triangle" that we joke about and added some shaggy layers to get rid of the all that weight that was weighing her hair down. i think she looks faaaaaancy. :)
